Three of a kind beats a straight. A three of a kind that doesn’t have a pocket pair is called tripping.

The Joker is an extra card in the deck. It is sometimes used as a wild card in poker.

Two hands of equal strength split the pot. If a player is able to make the most of his or her hand, he or she wins.

If a player doesn’t have the best hand, he or she can fold. However, he or she can raise, or match the current wager.
